Who is this service for?
Support Coordination is for NDIS participants who have Capacity Building — Support Coordination funding in their NDIS plan. It is typically funded for participants whose situations are more complex — including those with multiple disabilities, those transitioning from hospital or other systems, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, or those who need extra help navigating the NDIS. Not every participant will have this funding — if you’re unsure whether you do, check your plan or contact us and we’ll help you find out.
What is the difference between Support Coordination and a Local Area Coordinator (LAC)?
Can my support coordinator choose my providers for me?
No and this is important. Your support coordinator’s role is to present you with options, provide honest information about providers, and support you to make your own informed choices. We never direct participants toward specific providers for commercial reasons, and we never accept referral fees or commissions from providers. Your choice is always yours. Our job is to make sure that choice is well-informed.
